Our names are Ellinor Åkerström- Borg and Håkan Borg, and we live in a suburb to Stockholm, the capital of Sweden, called Tumba. We have a small cattery; S*Sacred Heart’s, which was registered in Fife & SVERAK (the Swedish cat organization) on May 11:th 2005.

The name "Sacred Heart's" origins from the comedyshow "Scrubs".

I (Ellinor) originally comes from a small town called Tierp

and Håkan comes from Malmö.

I (Ellinor) work full-time nights at a special residence for people who suffer from pre-senile dimentia, in Flemingsberg outside Huddinge in the southern part of Stockholm.

Håkan is a chef at a restaurant/nightclub in Bergshamra, in the northern part of Stockholm.

On September 6th 2008 we got married and here you can see some pictures from our wedding day:

Ever since I was a little girl I have lived with cats, regular farm cats.

When the last one, "Snurran", passed away, my mother said that she was NOT going to have another cat! It took about 4 months until she bought our first pedigreed cat... A nice, solid sealpoint female called "Mischa".

She is no longer with us. She lived to be 17.5 years old.

Håkan has never been a cat person. In his family they had dogs while he was growing up. But he likes the birman,  because the are so "dog-like" in many ways: they are curious, love company and are playful at times.

The reason why I love birmans is simple: they have a wonderful temperament & psyche. They are very calm and friendly, adjust very well to other animals. And those BLUE eyes….

The first birman I bought myself in 2001 was S*Saphire Extreme Endless Spring, or "Athena" as she is called. I only wanted a pet cat, not a show cat or breeding cat. Together with her, I "got" her mother S*Golden Sinh Daytona, "Dizzy", who I got to take care of, on behalf of the breeder. After being mated in 2002 to S*Piggelins Allan Edwall, Dizzy gave birth to 4 kittens, and Anette (S*Saphire Extreme) persuaded me to keep a male to breed with and to show. I kept the firstborn son, "S*Saphire Extreme MidnightSun". and because of me being a huge Ozzy Osbourne-fan, I named him "Ozzy". Both Dizzy and Athena have moved to my mother in Uppsala.

A BIIIIG THANKS to Anette, S*Saphire Extreme, for all the help and support you have given me all these years!

Louise moved in with us on October 16th 2006, from Birgitta Strandberg's cattery, S*Rawalpindi's. Louise is close what I want in a birman; just playful enough, very curious and always wants to see what's going on, everywhere!! VERY cuddly. Simply the best temprament!

We run a small cattery, emphasize "small" and "little", with only one female to mate and breed with.

It is important to us, that the mother of our kittens gets back in shape between pregnancies and we take the time to care for our kittens and give them a good start in life with a lot of social contact.

The kittens have access to our whole apartment when they are ready for it, just like our other cats. Firstly, we sell our kittens as pets, but if it turns out that they are suitable for show/breed that is a big plus. Our goal is to raise cats who are calm, easy to handle and have a stable mind with the right look and with the right quality of fur.

We go to different shows now and then, with our male Ozzy and female Louise.

You can read more about our cats under "The cats", where there are more details about them.

We are also members of the Swedish cat club "Järva Kattklubb" and "the Midnight Sun society for the Sacred Birman cat"; Birmasällskapet.
